Dunkin' Donuts hopes to open a store on Madison's far west side. Signs in front of the old bank building right next to the Woodman's Shopping Center indicate that the new store is opening soon.

In a time when many companies are feeling the economic uncertainty, Dunkin' Donuts is feeling confident about the future, according to a CNN report.

The report said the company is doubling its locations in the U.S. over the next 20 years.

The doughnut and coffee chain currently has nearly seven-thousand stores across the nation, CNN reported.

The Gammon Road location would be the company's first in Dane County. There are Dunkin' Donuts locations in Rock County.

Lee and Associates' John Walsh said they are currently waiting for city approval and there is not specific timeline for when the story would open if the city approves the plans.
