Madison Far West Photo Gallery | 'City Of Light' Comes To Verona Church

More than 50 members of a town of Verona church will try and bring the sights and sounds of Bethlehem to their parishioners this weekend.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on County Highway PD in the Town of Verona will perform the "City OF Light" Christmas Pageant at services this Sunday at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

The fully staged musical and drama recreates the Nativity store with a full cast, choral selections and more than 30 children participating in an angel choir. A full chamber orchestra will accompany the singers in the performance.

“The annual productions of the Christmas pageant and Passion Play have become special traditions at Good Shepherd” said Music & Worship Director Mark Bloedow.  “They bring to life the Gospel message in creative, inspirational, and meaningful ways for the participants and the congregation.”

In addition to Mary and Joseph, shepherds, angels and wisemen, the pageant features monologues by Isaiah and the innkeepers. A festive carol sing with the congregation, choir, orchestra and cast conclude the pageant.

The performance will take place at Good Shepherd's west campus. The church also has a central campus located on the corner of Raymond and Whitney Way in Madison.
